The tools and support provided by William Buck since I started as a graduate, have given me an invaluable start to my career. The diversity in training available from internal seminars to external workshops have ensured I’ve been able to grow to be the best advisor I can be. It is this core focus on development which have formed the foundations to becoming part of a deeply rooted culture, where we are constantly motivated and inspired by one another to impact positively on other people’s lives. As well as strive for continuous learning and improvement through a culture that values mentorship and support.
As a senior accountant, I didn’t imagine I would have the opportunity to undertake a secondment as an Interim CFO for a large charity organisation. The life-changing moment for me was seeing the impact my position and camaraderie can have. I also couldn’t have predicted the impact my secondment would have on my future. As Interim CFO, I had to adapt my training – I was now the client, not the advisor. Being pushed well outside my comfort zone has made me a better advisor.
Being encouraged by my team and having an opportunity to use my skills to make a difference for clients has been the most fulfilling part of my role.
