William Buck expects to see evidence of soft skills in cover letters and resumes. It doesn’t need to be from experience in a work environment, but can be through community involvement or sporting activities. These are indicators of soft skills, such as communication and teamwork.

  • If selected for an interview, it is important to have some examples ready to demonstrate your soft skills.
  • Working in a team is crucial to our business, so if someone doesn’t have teamwork experience or doesn’t show enthusiasm about the prospect of working with other people, then they may not be the right person for the job.
  • When speaking with a potential employee, I watch to see if they are genuinely enthusiastic. It’s very easy to see when someone isn’t.
