Spending most of his time within a client’s business. Alan has developed strong insights across a broad range of industries and markets throughout his ten year career. With every new client, Alan brings his organisational and technical skills that assist him in generating an exceptional result beyond expectations.
“I always like to push myself”, he says. “I’ve surrounded myself with a great network of professionals that have assisted me in my career and that have inspired me to be my best”.
Despite his unassuming English demeanour, there is an adventurer’s spirit and willingness to be put under pressure that becomes apparent very quickly. Alan spent two years in Korea teaching English and worked in major corporate organisations like Samsung helping to negotiate in English, which he says was very rewarding despite the obvious challenges.
As a leader Alan is keen to be the sounding board for his team members and give them the benefit of his experience in the same way his mentors helped him to develop.
With his international background it is interesting to hear his views on the way business is conducted in Australia. “I was very surprised, I expected a more laid back approach but have found it to be quite the opposite”. He says. “Australians are far more intense in the way they conduct business and rarely let an opportunity pass them by. It’s an attribute that works for me and one of the many reasons why I love being part of this country.”
