Richard leads William Buck’s Tauranga based specialist audit team. He has over 20 years’ experience in audit and accounting, including international audit experience.
Richard places a strong focus on establishing a transparent and open relationship with his clients and works through issues in a consultative manner. He believes clear communication is a key tool to finding resolutions.
Having spent two years at the Bay of Plenty District Health Board and eight years as Financial Controller for a privately-owned group of companies in the kiwifruit industry, Richard has extensive experience in a corporate environment, giving him a deeper understanding of the challenges his clients face.
Following major changes in not-for-profit sector financial reporting, Richard has established a reputation for an excellent technical understanding while providing support for Charities undergoing a challenging transition.
Richard is heavily involved with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand at a local and national level, having spent several terms on the CAANZ Council. He has also facilitated Professional Accounting School workshops and been an exam marker.
Richard is a keen sports follower and coached local cricket and hockey teams for many years. He is a member of the Toi Ohomai Business School Local Advisory Council and is a trustee of the Bay of Plenty Education Trust.
