William Buck is pleased to announce the appointment of Greg Travers as the new Chair of William Buck Australia and New Zealand. This strategic leadership change marks a new chapter in the firm’s continued growth and innovation.
Greg has been an integral part of William Buck for more than 25 years. As a tax partner, Greg earned a reputation as one of Australia’s foremost tax experts and thought leaders, building strong relationships with the firm’s clients. Greg has also been part of the leadership team at William Buck for many years, both in the NSW & ACT offices and more recently as part of the William Buck Group Board.
Outgoing Chair Jamie McKeough said that under Greg’s leadership, William Buck will continue to embrace transformation and respond to the shifting needs of its clients, as the firm strives to be the leading accounting and advisory firm to the mid-market.
“Greg has fostered an environment at William Buck where talent thrives and exceptional results are delivered,” said Jamie. “His collaborative leadership style, relationship driven approach and strong alignment with our values and vision, make him the ideal leader for our next stage of growth.”
Greg said he’s extremely honoured to take on the role of Chair and acknowledged Jamie for his remarkable contributions to the firm.
In 2021, Jamie assumed the position of Chair following 15 years on the Board, including 10 years as Deputy Chair. He was also Managing Partner of William Buck Adelaide for 18 years until 2024. Jamie will continue to leverage his knowledge, experience and relationships to mentor the next generation of leaders to support the future growth of the Adelaide office.
“Having played a pivotal role in shaping the William Buck brand, Jamie’s four years as Chair saw the firm build on its prior successes, achieving over 50% revenue growth and a 46% increase in partner numbers,” said Greg.
“He championed the establishment of our William Buck Foundation, which enables us to positively impact our communities, and helped build a unique culture of care at William Buck.
“This culture, and our investments into employee engagement under Jamie’s leadership, were recognised when we were awarded Xref Engage’s Best Workplace in 2022 and 2023 and named by Prosple as a Top 100 Graduate Employer for 2023.”
Greg said that he and the William Buck Board are focused on the next chapter for William Buck.
“There is incredible expertise and experience across the William Buck Group. My role is to ensure we collaborate, innovate and leverage this collective expertise and experience to deliver superior outcomes for our clients and outstanding experiences for our people.”
