To meet growing demand for our audit and assurance services, William Buck is pleased to announce the internal promotion of Joann Chang to Partner, Audit and Assurance – based in Adelaide.
Joann’s promotion, effective 1 January 2025, will enable William Buck to provide more services to a large number of leading South Australian businesses, including large private and listed companies.
Grant Martinella, Head of Audit and Assurance Services at William Buck, said that Joann’s promotion is reflective of her technical acumen, professional insight and managerial expertise.
“Joann has played an integral role in the Audit division’s growth and ability to provide high level and reliable service to our clients,” said Grant.
“With the size and capability of our team, we can provide clients with a higher level of personalised service.
“This means more face-to-face time with our partners and senior managers and a greater onsite presence which allows us to build stronger relationships with our clients.”
A highly skilled and experienced professional, Joann joined William Buck as a Graduate in 2011 having migrated to Australia from Malaysia to complete her Masters in Accounting.
Specialising in external audit for public and private companies and organisations, she soon rose to a senior management position and in 2022 became a principal of the firm.
Joann, who was awarded William Buck’s 2024 Outstanding Achievement Award, said the firm had provided and supported a clear career pathway from the moment she joined as a Graduate.

Led by Grant Martinella and Matthew King, William Buck’s Adelaide Audit and Assurance team has grown from 13 to 25 auditors in the past two years, with revenue increasing by 45 per cent.
Joann’s appointment takes the total number of SA-based partners at William Buck to 28 within a strong local team of 240 professionals.
