Specific daily responsibilities include:

  • Managing an established client base
  • Bespoke tax and business advice
  • Special project / corporate advisory work
  • Business development
  • Preparation of statutory financial accounts and management accounts
  • Preparation of income tax returns for all entity types

Skills / Attributes needed:

  • CA/CPA qualification
  • 3-6 years’ experience in public practice
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

An excellent opportunity exists within the Business Advisory division of William Buck Perth. We are seeking a motivated, capable, experienced Bookkeeper with strong organisation skills to join our expanding team.

You must be able to demonstrate your experience and knowledge of bookkeeping in a professional environment; you’ll need a sound knowledge of all software platforms to assist our Business Advisory Business Unit with client services. It’s not your traditional bookkeeping role; we use all forms of technology for data mining and automation for bookkeeping to trial balance and you’ll need to fulfil the criteria below:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Performing bookkeeping functions efficiently by embracing built-in and add-on features for all types of online software
  • Supporting our clients to achieve their goals and grow their business
  • Reconciliation of accounts to trial balance
  • Preparation of all BAS related compliance reports for lodgement with ATO
  • Preparation and presentation of management reports to clients
  • Assisting clients to understand financial results and provide training where required
  • Attending to client questions and act as the liaison with the accountant
  • Ability to cross sell other service offerings within the group
  • Strong focus on third-party software integrations, as well as experience in client training in the use of all packages
  • Strong focus and ability to work with and document systems and procedures
  • Ability to undertake payroll for clients across varied industries with an understanding of Fair Work and other Workplace Legislation

REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience
  • Certificate IV in Financial Services (Bookkeeping) or equivalent highly desirable
  • Advanced working knowledge of all online accounting software packages (must have proven advanced knowledge / experience in both MYOB and Xero)
  • Experience with other third-party applications integrated with cloud accounting software packages (Receipt-Bank, Deputy for example)
  • Highly efficient / organised with strong event management skills
  • Experience working with multiple clients and conflicting deadlines
  • Attention to detail and ability to solve problems
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver the highest level of customer service
  • Ability to manage a high volume of work in a team structure
  • Able to think on your feet with a can-do attitude
  • IT savvy having strong Microsoft Office 365 Suite skills
  • Flexibility to work from client premises or our office

    good interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships
  • Knowledge in CaseWare (preferred)
  • Willingness to become involved with business development
  • Permanent resident of Australia
  • A valid driver’s licence
