Commentary from Jamie McKeough, Chair of William Buck Australia and New Zealand
William Buck has maintained its commitment to promote within and support its people throughout a challenging period, announcing 23 to Director or Principal, the highest and second-highest level of leadership within the firm.
Achieving organic and sustained growth despite the impacts of COVID-19 has positioned the firm to make the appointments and recognise those that have shown dedication to clients and delivered exceptional service.
โWeโre grateful that the superior talent at William Buck has enabled growth throughout this period and I want to thank the significant contribution our newly appointed leaders have made to enable this,โ said Jamie McKeough, Chair of William Buck Australia and New Zealand.
Promotions span several divisions, strengthening William Buckโs service capabilities across Corporate Advisory, Business Advisory, Tax, Wealth Advisory and Audit.
Over half of those promoted were from Business Advisory which has seen a strong expansion of its client-base, with advisors assisting middle-market businesses to navigate the breadth of COVID-19 grants and incentives and to remain agile and adaptive for continued success throughout the pandemic.
Meanwhile, Amanda Anderson, Chief Operating Officer of William Buck Adelaide has become the firmโs second only non-fee earning director in its 125-year history.
And, over a third of the appointments began their careers as graduates at William Buck, reflective of the firmโs strong culture and rising reputation as an employer of choice.
Mr McKeough said directors made the decision to preserve every job at the firm early in the pandemic.
โWe wanted to give our people security and certainty during an otherwise uncertain period. Maintaining salaries and conditions of our people was paramount for all offices across the group.โ
โThis is evidence of our โChanging Livesโ philosophy, with one of the key pillars of our five-year strategic plan being our people, and the others โ clients and collaboration.
โOur strategic plan will provide the foundations from which we continue on our growth trajectory as we establish William Buck as the leading mid-tier accounting and advisory firm, with a strong focus on the middle-market.โ
โWe will continue to promote from within where possible, nurturing and developing our people to possess outstanding technical skills and the ability to form meaningful relationships with clients and colleagues,โ said Mr McKeough.
William Buck would like to congratulate the new executive appointments:
