Leading accounting and advisory firm William Buck Adelaide is inviting budding regional commerce students to apply for its inaugural William Buck Regional Scholarship, designed to assist regional SA students pursue tertiary studies in commerce-related fields.
This annual scholarship will provide $15,000 in financial support across three years to help a regional student complete their first undergraduate South Australian university degree.
A William Buck employee who started as a graduate will provide ongoing mentorship throughout the scholarship, offering guidance and career support.
William Buck will host the student for four weeks of paid work experience at William Buck Adelaide during their second year of study and potential employment at the scholarship’s completion.
Adrian Chugg, Managing Partner of William Buck SA said the firm is committed to supporting the development of South Australia’s future leaders, especially those from regional areas.
“With one-third of William Buck’s Adelaide partners from country South Australia and a large proportion of our clients from regional SA, the Regional Commerce Scholarship is one of the ways we can give back to the communities that have supported us,” said Adrian.
“It allows us to directly assist individuals that have an interest in the finance sector, while also demonstrating William Buck’s commitment to supporting the sustainability of Australia’s accounting industry.”
The scholarship supports students undertaking their first undergraduate South Australian university degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
Applications can be made until 2 January 2025 via the scholarship application form on the William Buck website. Applicants should complete the short application form including a brief statement explaining why they are applying for the scholarship and a one-page curriculum vitae.
