William Buck Invitational rallies for autism inclusion, raising more than $60,000 for the Ricky Stuart Foundation

Leaders from across Canberra’s business community came together last week for the William Buck Invitational, a corporate table tennis tournament that raised over $60,000 for the Ricky Stuart Foundation, supporting Australians living with autism and disabilities.

A fixture on Canberra’s corporate calendar, the William Buck Invitational has raised approximately $400,000 over the past five events, delivering meaningful, ongoing support to the Foundation’s work.

The Ricky Stuart Foundation is committed to creating a more inclusive and accepting Australia for people with autism and their families, with a strong focus on awareness, education and practical support. The Foundation currently operates two respite houses in Canberra, supporting children and families, and is progressing additional housing models to support young people living with disabilities.

Domenic De Marco, Partner, Business Advisory, said the Invitational continues to demonstrate the strength of Canberra’s business community when it comes together for a cause with real local impact.

“Canberra has a huge heart, and this event is proof of it. The William Buck Invitational is a fun day out, but it’s also serious fundraising, because the Ricky Stuart Foundation delivers practical support for families right here in our community,” Mr De Marco said.

“To raise over $60,000 in a single event, and approximately $400,000 over five events, is something our supporters and sponsors should feel genuinely proud of.”

Funds raised through the Invitational have supported the Foundation’s 2025 donations program, backing autism focused initiatives, including the Canberra Symphony Orchestra’s Diverse Ability Program and the Profound Autism Conference with Autism Awareness Australia. These partnerships deliver practical support, reduce isolation for families, and promote a more inclusive Australia.

Miranda Garnett, Founder, Ricky Stuart Foundation, said the ongoing support from Canberra businesses helps translate awareness into real outcomes for families.

“As a parent, I know how much it means when your community understands and supports you. At the Ricky Stuart Foundation, we partner with and donate to organisations delivering practical outcomes that support a more inclusive and accepting Australia. Through our donations program, we partner with experts to help create real, lasting impact. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who supported the William Buck Invitational and contributed to this important work,” Ms Garnett said.

With a high-energy format and a strong sense of friendly rivalry, guests competed to win the coveted William Buck invitational trophy, while collectively contributing to services that help families feel supported, included and understood. The firm also acknowledged the support of its sponsors, especially platinum sponsor Englobo, and congratulated this year’s winners Frank Giorgi and Jonty Giorgi from Ray White Commercial.
