Commentary from Jack Qi, Director of Tax Services at William Buck and Maxine Sherrin, Program Director, Spark Festival
William Buck Accountants and Advisors are announcing their Gold sponsorship to Australiaโs biggest startup festival in October 2019, which aims to strengthen the digital and technological startup community.
Jack Qi, Director of Tax Services at William Buck says the sponsorship will support over 160 events running from October 10 โ 27, across regional and metropolitan NSW.
โSpark Festival is a not-for-profit which brings together startups, small business, corporates, government, universities, hubs, incubators, students and investors in Australia – to build a program of events and activities over a 17-day program to strengthen the entire digital ecosystem,โ says Jack.
โItโs our belief that accountants and advisors are critical to startup success, making Spark Festival and William Buck sponsorship a natural alignment.โ
โOften for a startup, itโs their accountants or advisor who are their first port of call for assistance. As startup friendly accountants we want to ensure startups are getting the best advice – but more importantly aid them in accessing a broader network, so they can thrive.โ
โItโs in William Buckโs organisational DNA to make an impact. This sponsorship is an opportunity for us to reach out and guide startups on key issues they face; such as scaling, raising capital, and attracting talent through the right structures, as well as sharing advice on navigating regulatory complexities.โ
Maxine Sherrin program Director at Spark says they are excited to partner with William Buck.
โSpark Festival is about enabling the community to come together to solve their unique challenges at each part of their journey,โ says Maxine.
โWeโre excited to partner with the team at William Buck. They have expertise in many of the challenges faced by startups as they grow. They have already demonstrated that they understand the Spark ethos of โgiving backโ, through sharing their knowledge with organisations at all stages of the journey.
โWeโre looking forward to working with William Buck to help organisations see beyond the hustle of the early stages and set themselves up for long-term growth,โ says Maxine.
