Balancing two medical careers, raising a family and managing complex financial affairs isn’t easy, but for husband-and-wife specialists Dr. Daniel and Dr. Gabrielle Cehic, it’s a life built on purpose and partnership.

With William Buck by their side, they’ve been able to focus on what matters most: caring for others and planning a secure future for their family.

Cehic

A shared commitment to helping others

For Dr. Daniel Cehic, a Cardiologist trained in Adelaide and the UK, medicine is more than a profession, it’s a calling.
“The biggest milestone that I’ve achieved is really all the people that I’ve been able to help,” he reflects.

His wife, Dr. Gabrielle Cehic, a Nuclear Medicine Physician and Oncologist with more than 30 years’ experience, shares the same deep sense of purpose.

“Enabling people to live with hope and dignity.”

Their shared values of compassion and service extend beyond their work, shaping how they approach life and family.

A partnership built on trust and expertise

The Cehics’ relationship with William Buck began more than 15 years ago — first through a family connection, and now through enduring trust.

“Tax law, superannuation regulations and wealth advisory is nothing we get trained for in medicine. So having experts in those fields to help guide us and take the stress away from us having to spend the time and energy to understand it, has been great. It just makes life so much easier,” Daniel says.

Gabrielle agrees, “When you’re dealing with hard-earned money, you want to know that you’re using it wisely. We don’t know what we don’t know, so having experts guide us is invaluable.”

For the couple, William Buck partners Tom Laundry and Andrew Barlow have become more than accountants — they’re trusted friends.

“All I need to do is reach out and I can be sure that I’ll get a timely response with good advice,” Daniel says.

Integrated financial planning for a busy family

With demanding careers and a busy household, the Cehics value William Buck’s collaborative, full-service approach.

“It allows us to deal with all our financial requirements in one place which means less work, stress and time spent from our perspective,” Daniel explains.

“They condense down our time together and have different roles that work collaboratively. It’s very time efficient for us,” Gabrielle adds.

William Buck’s understanding of the healthcare sector has been particularly valuable.

“They understand we work hard and are time poor. Any advice that helps us make the most of our finances, especially around superannuation, is where they really excel,” Gabrielle shares.

Investing in the next generation

Financial literacy and family connection go hand in hand for the Cehics. With three adult children – two in medicine and one in economics, they’re focused on passing down the lessons they’ve learned.

“We’ve been very keen to instil financial competency in our children. Andrew and Tom have been gracious in including our children so they better understand the complexities of managing one’s financial life,” Daniel says.

Gabrielle adds, “We’ve tried to instil a sense of family, commitment and loyalty in our children. Through helping them understand investing, spending and even philanthropy, they realise we’ve all lived a very privileged life and how to.”

A relationship beyond advice

Over time, William Buck has become woven into the fabric of the family’s financial and personal journey.

“Taking the time to understand us before advising us is critical,” Daniel says.
“There’s stability and confidence in the relationship. The team knows us and we know them. That trust, comfort and knowledge is invaluable,” Gabrielle adds.

Looking ahead

As the couple begins to plan for life after medicine, their focus turns to family and fulfilment.

“We hope to retire sooner rather than later, but this has been a vocation for me,” Gabrielle reflects. “With William Buck’s help, we’ve established a secure future and we feel ready for whatever comes next.”

Daniel concludes with a smile, “We hope to have a bit of a nest egg so we can blow it together and enjoy time with our children.”
