What attracted you to join the William Buck Graduate Program?
When I first came across the William Buck job opening, I was drawn to the words of culture and great environment. Having a great culture goes a long way to enjoying your job and that is one of the main reasons why I applied. WB also focuses on developing their graduates and I was eager to learn coming into a new role.
What did you get out of the program?
I have learnt a tremendous amount since my first day in the office, and this was a result of the entire team putting in effort to support each other. The team prepares a development path for you, and having goals to chase goes a long way in enjoying and learning at the same time.
How were you supported through the program?
I was supported with catch ups with managers every so often, weekly check ins to see if my workflow was alright, as well as a development plan which allowed me to reflect and think about better ways to do things. My team also has training workshops every month which help develop our skills and confidence. Everyone was always available to help whenever I needed it, which was also great.
How do you see your career progressing with William Buck?
Within my team there is quite a structured way of progressing in terms of title and promotions, so this always provides something to aim for. However, I think my career progression will mainly be around learning and taking on more responsibility. There are always things to learn, so that phase will never stop, however, getting exposed to new scenarios and situations will be the most beneficial way of learning.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
This is always a hard question. First and foremost, I think in five years I will have gained a large amount of knowledge and will have the ability to hold in depth conversations with partners and others around potential ideas.
What’s the best thing about working at William Buck?
The best thing is the culture within the company and team. Everyone is super friendly and will always lend a helping hand. I think this is one of the main things that drives success at a company. I think you will get better results if everyone enjoys what they do.
