Key new appointments at William Buck Adelaide

By William Buck

William Buck has appointed five new Directors to its expanding Adelaide office.

The internal promotions are across key divisions at the State’s largest locally owned and operated accounting firm.

Meanwhile the firm’s Adelaide Managing Director Jamie McKeough has been announced as the new Chair of William Buck Australia and New Zealand.

Mr McKeough has been with William Buck for 33 years and Deputy Chair of the Board for 11 years. He will remain in the role of Adelaide Managing Director as he takes on the additional duties of Chair. Jamie replaces Outgoing Chair of 13 years, Nick Hatzistergos.

“Jamie has driven the growth and development of the Adelaide office, has played an enormous role in building the William Buck brand and has led the Business Advisory team from a small team in its infancy to one that today makes up the largest part of our practice across Australia and New Zealand,” said Nick.

Jamie has thanked the Board for the opportunity and Nick for his significant contribution to the Group over the past 13 years.

“When Nick took over in 2008, the Group was experiencing challenges. He stood up when strong leadership and vision was needed,” Jamie said.

Effective July 1, the new William Buck Adelaide Directors are:

Aaron Trombetta – Director, Wealth Advisory

Amanda Anderson – Director & Chief Operating Officer

James Northcote – Director, Business Advisory

Samantha Nicholls – Director, Corporate Advisory

Shane Taylor – Director, Business Advisory

The new appointments take the total number of Adelaide-based Directors to 24 at the 190+ staff – strong SA firm.

“The position of Director represents the highest level of leadership within our firm,” Mr McKeough said.

“To become a Director you need to have outstanding technical skills as well as a proven ability to form meaningful relationships, provide value to clients and develop fellow staff.

“You need to be a leader and team player at the same time but most of all possess strong values and ethics. Aaron, Amanda, James, Samantha and Shane have all demonstrated these qualities and I congratulate them on this significant achievement.”

We also congratulate Cain Meschiati on his promotion to Principal within Business Advisory.

Four of the new appointments started their careers as graduates at William Buck, reflecting the firm’s strong culture and focus on staff professional development, while Amanda who is currently the firm’s Chief Operating Officer is now also William Buck SA’s first non-client facing Director in its history.

“In the 125th year of William Buck, it’s very pleasing to announce these key leadership promotions that align with the future growth strategy of our firm,” Mr McKeough said.

“William Buck has grown over the past year in SA reflective of the resilience and positive outlook of our clients. Together we are approaching the new financial year and beyond with confidence for the State economy and business sector.”
