William Buck has announced a record nine internal promotions to director as part of our 1 July promotions round, to complete a year that’s seen 26 new directors appointed and brings our total to 128.
Promotions span several divisions, strengthening William Buck’s service capabilities across Business Advisory, Tax Services, Audit and Assurance and Superannuation.
Jamie McKeough, Chair of William Buck Australia and New Zealand, said to become a director at William Buck – the firm’s highest level of leadership– is testament to an individual’s exceptional ability in his or her field, outstanding leadership skills and genuine relationship-driven approach.
Moreover, career progression is not dictated by industry or skillset, but by the value and values an individual brings to the firm.
“Our staff are our greatest asset. As such, we encourage and reward professional and personal development, evidenced by our commitment to promote from within where possible.
“Several of our newly promoted leaders began their careers at William Buck as graduates, including Sarah Blake who has been promoted to Director of both Business Advisory and Superannuation, effective 1 July 2023.
“Sarah, 33, is a Chartered Accountant and Financial Advisor with an impressive knowledge base. An exemplary leader, Sarah is trusted by her peers and has always gone above and beyond – something that’s been recognised with a firm-wide service award and accelerated career progression.
“Lloyd Crawford, 33, joined us in 2014 from the UK and has since been a valued member of our Audit and Assurance team. Like Sarah, Lloyd has been instrumental in developing younger team members, with whom he’s trusted and considered a ‘go to’ for guidance and support.”
Of the 26 new directors appointed in the last 12 months, six were lateral hires while 20 were promotions.
“Our strong, collaborative culture and focus on learning and development has seen William Buck this year ranked first place as ‘Overall Workplace in Accounting & Finance’ by Prosple and second place in GradAustralia’s ‘Australia Top Grad Employer’,” said Mr McKeough.
“We are extremely proud to have been recognised by these leading organisations for our commitment to learning and development and to forging a great culture.”
We congratulate our newly appointed leaders and look forward to their significant contributions.
